Due to the election results for Congressional District 5, John McGuire will have to resign from his current VA Senate seat prior to his installation in Congress. This will open up the Senate District 10 seat for a special election–very soon. Amanda Chase, rated the most conservative state senator in Virginia, has moved to Appomattox so that she can run for this seat. Many other Republicans have expressed interest in this seat.

Democrats in the following precincts of Prince Edward County are encouraged to notify the Prince Edward Democratic Committee Chair, Patsy Watson, if they have an interest in running for this VA Senate Seat: 101 Farmville, 502 Buffalo Heights, 601 Prospect, 701 West End, and 801 Center.
